The Elysian is a new 188 room hotel and residences on Chicago’s Gold Coast that uses the classic elements of luxury from a bygone era to resurrect the “lost art of travel”.
The palette for the entire hotel is very classical, neutral, muted and soft, with strategic pink colour accents. The black and white color direction is neither limiting or trendy like one would expect, but kept interesting by all of the luxurious variances in texture and use of interesting forms that help form and unify each space.
Guest suites average at 890 square feet each, and all have fireplaces and outdoor terraces facing Lake Michigan. Finish details are top drawer (the hotel’s website is not ashamed to share that only the finest Italian marble was considered, and no expense was spared on the “expensive closets” and imported Italian bed linens)
2 restaurants (Balsan and Ria) and a state of the art spa and health club on site follow the same beautiful design aesthetic.
