This is truly one of the more unique, authentic “hotel” experiences I have come across in my searches. Located in the Saharan Desert in Libya, the Magic Lodges are actually 2 separate camps, right in the middle of the desert, both on the edge of a natural oasis, surrounded by stunning dunes. Submersed in the local tribal culture, guests experience camel back riding, and well…not much else besides relaxation and fine dining. But that’s the whole point.
The tents you stay in are by no means primitive though. They are furnished with stunning linens and pillows and adornment made by local people. And YES THEY HAVE THEIR OWN PRIVATE BATHROOMS!!! How amazing are these? I can’t believe this is in the middle of the desert!
And the dining tent looks like a delicious, rich, cultural experience.
